How much does it cost to start a truck dispatching business?
Starting on your own typically costs a US state LLC filing fee (roughly $40 to $500 depending on the state), a domain and professional email (about $100 a year), a virtual phone number ($10 to $30 a month) and a load board subscription if you use your own ($50 to $150 a month), plus the time to learn it all. Our setup packages cost $667 to $2,000 as one payment and exclude the state LLC fee and load board subscriptions.
What is included in a truck dispatching business setup?
It depends on the package. The Zero to Dispatcher Kit ($667) gives you all courses, tools, a professional email, a website template, contracts and step-by-step guides. Get Loaded Fast ($1,397) adds your live website, a CRM, outreach scripts and 3 months of marketplace listing. Done-For-You Dispatch Business ($2,000) adds LLC and EIN filing by us, three live one-on-one sessions and a custom carrier plan.
Do I need an LLC and an EIN to start dispatching?
Federal law does not force you to form an LLC to dispatch, but most dispatchers do, because it separates personal liability from the business and carriers expect a business name on the service agreement. An EIN is free from the IRS and goes on your W-9 and your business bank account. This is general information, not legal or tax advice, so confirm your own structure with a lawyer or accountant.
Do I need a freight broker license to be a truck dispatcher?
A dispatcher who works as the carrier's agent, books loads in the carrier's name and is paid a fee by the carrier is different from a freight broker. A broker arranges transportation as an intermediary and needs FMCSA broker authority and a $75,000 surety bond or trust. Confirm how your own arrangement is classified with a transportation attorney before you start.
Can I start a US dispatching business from outside the United States?
Yes for the formation steps. A non-US resident can own a US LLC and obtain an EIN. In practice you still need to work US freight hours with carriers and brokers, and some steps, such as opening a US bank account, depend on the bank.
Who pays the LLC state filing fee?
You do, directly to the state. It is not included in the package price because fees differ by state. On the Done-For-You Dispatch Business package we file the LLC for you, and you pay the state fee.
Do you give me carriers or clients?
No. The packages give you the entity, the tools, the documents, the training and, on the two larger packages, your website, CRM and outreach scripts. Signing carriers is your work, and nobody can honestly promise you clients or income.
Can I get a refund?
No. All sales are final. Work and access start as soon as your payment is confirmed. Read the Setup Package Terms before you pay: they are linked in the checkout box and you must accept them.
How long does the setup take?
We contact you within 2 business days of your setup form. After that the timing depends on the steps: a US state can approve an LLC in a day or in several weeks, and an EIN is issued by the IRS on its own schedule.
How do I pay?
One payment by card on a secure Stripe checkout page. We never see your card number. The charge shows as Cheng General Trading Fzc LLC, our payment processing company, and Stripe emails your receipt.
