- A dispatch business is a service business built on a written agreement, a separate bank account, verified carriers and reliable weekly reporting. Set those four up before you chase your first truck.
- There is no federal dispatcher licence. Your legal duties come from your business structure, your state and city, your contracts, and the dispatcher-versus-broker line covered in Lesson 5.
- Price in writing with a clear model (percentage, flat weekly, per load or hybrid), a minimum, an invoice day and an exit clause. Run the margin math before you quote.
- One careful dispatcher serves a small number of trucks well. Add trucks only when the current ones run smoothly, and build procedures before you hire.
- Find carriers ethically: referrals, communities, honest content and compliant outreach. Never promise income, never fake reviews, never spam.
