In this lesson
- Contact early and often. Silence costs more than bad news. A broker forgives a late truck that called ahead and never forgives a truck that disappeared.
- Every problem has the same first three moves: make the driver safe, get the facts, tell the broker with a proposed fix.
- Document everything at the time it happens: timestamps, photos, names, messages. A note written two days later is an opinion. A note written at 14:07 is evidence.
- Never admit fault, guess at a cause, or promise money on the carrier's behalf. Report facts, and let insurance and the carrier owner decide liability.
- The driver has the final say on safety. Your job is to plan, communicate and protect, never to pressure.
