- A week is the unit of dispatch. One good load does not make a week and one bad day does not ruin it, but the arithmetic of every decision shows up in Friday's numbers.
- The order never changes: screen with the truck's three numbers, check the clock, vet the broker, read the rate con, run the trip, document everything, invoice fast, report honestly.
- Every trap on the Monday board is one you have already met: a rate below break-even, a weight the trailer cannot carry, an appointment the clock cannot reach, hazmat without an endorsement, a broker who is four months old and too generous.
- Accessorial money (detention, TONU) is earned on the day with timestamps and notices, not reclaimed later with arguments.
- Your weekly report to the carrier must show the miss as clearly as the win. A dispatcher who hides a $420 shortfall loses the carrier the week it is discovered.
